Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Bay St. George

A low pressure system will approach from the west on Saturday and cross northern Newfoundland Saturday night.

Snow will develop Saturday morning and change to flurries Saturday evening. The flurries will become more persistent overnight with a risk of snow squalls. Widespread snowfall amounts of 10 cm can be expected on Saturday. Snowfall amounts will be more variable Saturday night in the flurries with 2 to 4 cm expected for most and locally up to 10 cm possible in heavier flurries or over some higher elevations.
Additionally, strong southerly winds on Saturday will shift to strong westerlies Saturday night giving reduced visibilities in blowing snow over exposed areas.
